Control is About to Get Bigger and Better
Control is a game that was released on August 27th. It was met with raving reviews. After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, you become the new Director struggling to regain control. It is a supernatural third-person action-adventure game that challenges you to master a combination of Supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through a deep unpredictable world. Despite the few technical difficulties on PlayStation 4, it is still loved by players.
505 games announced that Control is about to get bigger. There are multiple free additions in the pipes and two paid expansions coming in 2020. In a content timeline released by the devs, we saw that two free modes are coming this year.
Photo Mode is coming in Autumn, this will allow you to capture the beauty of your surroundings. Expeditions are coming in December of this year. Expeditions offer “challenging new end-game content in which Jesse must help Security Chief Arish explore the mysterious Formation and its strange surroundings. There you will face some of the greatest challenges the Oldest House has to throw at you.”
That’s where the free stuff ends for this year. The first paid expansion is titled the Foundation, which looks at the history of the Oldest House. Jesse must explore what lies beneath the Bureau as she returns order to the Foundation and the Oldest House itself.
The second expansion is called AWE. It’s described as: “A new area of the Oldest House, the Bureau closely examines Altered World Events.” The style of title reminds fans of the cult classic Alan Wake which is set in the same universe as Control.
Each expansion will be available for purchase individually, all though the price hasn’t been released yet. The season pass is now available for £24.99. The pass comes with an exclusive side mission titled Isolation, which can be accessed immediately.
