Xbox’s big London event happened last week. Although there weren’t any HUGE announcements that got us excited, there are a few substantial things to chat about.
There was no mention of Project Scarlett at the event, but here is what we know so far. Project Scarlett will set a “new bar” for console power, speed and performance. It is arriving in time for Holiday 2020 alongside Halo Infinite. It has a custom-designed AMD processor, high bandwidth GDD R6 memory and a next generation Solid Drive (SSD). I don’t know what any of that means, but it sure does sound fancy.
Moving on from Project Scarlett, which is a dumb name in my opinion. There are big updates to Project xCloud. Microsoft announced that it would be adding 50 new games to the service from 25 partners that include Madden NFL 20, Devil May Cry 5, and Tekken 7. xCloud will be available on Windows 10 PCs in 2020 and will soon support additional game pads from third-party controller manufacturers.
50 new games are coming to Xbox Game Pass. You will now be able to download Rage 2 and Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, while in the near future you’ll see Darksiders III, The Witcher 3, and Final Fantasy VII-XV, all available on Xbox Game Pass.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are coming soon. US fans can purchase the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition for $149.99. It comes with Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Fortnite Battle Royale with the Legendary Rogue Spider Knight Skin. The Xbox One X will get a minor price drop down to £349.99. Xbox controllers will get a £20 price drop from November 24th to December 2nd. Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves: Anniversary Edition, State of Decay 2, and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will all be 50% off.
Dontnod entertainment, the studio behind Life is Strange, revealed their new title Tell Me Why. It will feature the first transgender protagonist in games history. Xbox Game Studios and Obsidian Entertainment announced Grounded, a new first person, co-op, survival game coming to Xbox One in Spring 2020.
